Note: When considering the IBP Elite Classification Chart
remember these numbers must be achieved under certain conditions. |
1. IBP Substance Abuse Policy - Iron Boy Powerlifting is dedicated to the pursuance of
fair and equitable competition at all IBP sanctioned events. The IBP is
adamant that no athlete should have a chemical produced advantage over
another athlete nor should an athlete be compelled to use performance
enhancing drugs in order to remain competitive. |
2. IBP RAW division – only a belt, wrist wraps, and knee wraps can be worn. No
other supportive apparel (that artificially adds to weight lifted) is
allowed. |
3. IBP approved bar- only a standard Texas Power Bar is used. Specialty
deadlift bars (that artificially adds to weight lifted) and specialty squat
bars are strictly prohibited. |
4. IBP rules must be followed. Example: When
squatting the lifter must un-rack the weight and must move backwards (walk
the weight out) to establish the starting position. This movement is
considered part of the traditional squat movement. So equipment such as a
“MonoLift” can not be used to preclude this rule. (this artificially adds to
weight lifted) |
These
are 4 examples of potential differences that should be acknowledged between
the IBP and other Powerlifting organizations when considering Elite
classifications. |
